In May 2020, unusual rocks containing greenish crystals were discovered in the Erg Chech sand sea, a region of the Sahara in Algeria. These rocks, originating from space, are fragments of a meteorite called Erg Chech 002. According to recent research, this is the oldest volcanic rock ever found, dating back to the dawn of the solar system.

In fact, dating back over 4.5 billion years, it reveals unprecedented information about the solar system's earliest moments, with major implications for astronomical research. It could challenge some of our hypotheses on the formation and evolution of the first celestial bodies.

This meteorite is unique and very important for scientific research.
